On May 13th from 10:30am-12:30pm, the Career Services Department will be hosting the annual Volunteer/Internship Fair. The Volunteer/Internship Fair is an excellent opportunity for students to research and potentially secure field related internship opportunities well as volunteer prospects. |

For 18 years The Minnesota Electronic Theater has been the annual meeting place for the state's computer graphics community. It has served as the premiere showcase for locally-produced award-winning animation and a unique venue for computer graphics professionals, educators, and students to socialize. |

Brandon Kachel, one of our VFX graduates, has worked on such films as Ironman, The Mist, and Speed Racer. Brandon will be on campus for a short presentation and Q & A at 12:00 pm in room 233. Space is limited. |
| The Science Museum of MN has an exhibit, where visitors explore animation from concept to finished product—from story boarding, character design, and drawing techniques, to movement, timing, filming, and sound. Larger-than-life graphics of popular Cartoon Network characters provide a colorful backdrop to the exhibit, which also explores the history of animation and features a screening room and a cartoon museum. Maya MN user group:
Their next meeting is set for Monday, April 14th. That's a week from this Monday. The subject will be 'Lighting'. They will run through the basics of Maya lighting as a refresher or introduction and then share some lighting tricks. It will be held at Boston Scientific Auditorium in St. Paul. |

From the international acclaimed filmmakers Garth Jennings and Nick Goldsmith of Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy fame, will be talking about their new film - SON OF RAMBOW. ILM is coming to The Art Institutes International MN November 29th! Paul Churchill has worked at Industrial Light & Magic since 1998. He has worked on such films as Star Wars and Pirates of the Caribbean. more to come....

Comments: Nearly 50 Aim students attended the event. They took their time to meet with students and discuss their portfolios for over four hours. I am planning on having them back in six months. So start getting your portfolios together now! |
